Dental veneers are a common cosmetic dental treatment used to correct minor imperfections, usually in the front upper teeth. Veneers are very thin layers of porcelain or composite material that are precisely made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, in much the same way that a false fingernail fits over your natural nail. They are made to closely match the natural colour of your teeth.
Veneers can be used to cover stained or discoloured teeth, to disguise small cracks and chips, to close small gaps when orthodontic treatment is not appropriate, and in some cases to bring a slightly misaligned tooth into a more desirable position. For chipped teeth, the porcelain or composite covers the whole of the front of the tooth, with a thicker section to replace the broken part.
We can create a single veneer for one discoloured or chipped tooth, or a whole set to cover all of your front teeth. Veneers make your teeth look natural and healthy, and are one of the quickest ways to boost the appearance of your smile.
One of the major advantages of veneers is that they require only minimal preparation of your teeth. A very small amount of enamel may be removed so that the veneer can be bonded properly, using a special dental adhesive.
